Dural Warriors 12 Girls side took a step closer to a Grand final berth with a 4-0 victory over the Inner West Allstars.

Dural took the lead in the first minute of the game and never looked back as Jacqui Smith slotted the ball past the keeper after some nice lead up work from Hayley Evans.

Two minutes later Dural extended their lead when they were awarded a freekick for a push in the back just outside the area. Hayley Evans stepped up and drilled the ball low through the wall and into the net to make it 2-0.

The Allstars kept probing away for an opening back into the game and were clearly missing their skipper Emily Kos as the Warriors were able repel most of their attacks and looked dangerous on the counter themselves.

Dural went further ahead when Maddison Zahra sped down the right flank and smashed a shot across the keeper and into the net to give her side a formidable 3-0 lead.

Just before half time the Allstars nearly pulled a goal back when Georgia Koutzounis found Angelique Dimitrakis whose turn and shot produced a great save from Sammy Hamilton.

After half time the Allstars came out determined to be the first on the scoresheet and put more pressure on the Warriors defence. But again the Dural girls got behind the ball and denied the Allstars of a goal.

Dural almost extended their lead but for two great saves from keeper Heather Madgwick, first saving a shot from Maddison Zahra then bravely diving at the feet of Tara Pender.

Jacqui Smith later had a long range shot well saved by Madgwick in the Allstars goal.

Late in the game Dural scored their fourth when Hayley Evans weaved her way through the middle of the court and found Jacqui Smith who slotted the ball past the keeper from close range.

In the end Dural’s passing and movement was too good for their opponents and they ran out worthy winners and are likely to be difficult opponents in next weeks preliminary final.
