NSR enters its eleventh year of operation in Australia in 2016 and is currently an affilliated partner with Member Federations across the country including, Football Federation South Australia, Football West, Football Queensland, Northern New South Wales Football and Football Federation Tasmania.
In partnership with Football NSW, NSR will be hosting trials with the view of identifying potential American college soccer prospects that have the ability to play full time soccer. These lucky athletes will have the chance to ply their trade in the extremely professional American College Soccer Leagues whilst studying for the degree of their choice.
As students do not enter the College system until they have completed Year 12, the NSR Australia program is now making a number of places available for student athletes who are currently in high school years 9, 10, 11 and 12. Students who have completed high school may also trial as there are a number of places available for athletes who have only been out of high school for less than one year or students who are in their 1st year of University or TAFE.
As part of the NSR process, players who are successful at trial will be invited to an interview where academic records are discussed and the college system explained. Should a player be successful at interview and invited to be a part of the NSR program, NSR will request a fee which covers the following, but is not limited to:
- Creating a player profile
- Uploading academic and football background
- Creating photographic and video highlights
- Covering the costs incurred by NSR in seeking placement for each player
Prior to attending a trial, we recommend you seek advice from your parents/guardians to see whether this opportunity is something that is right for you.
