Football NSW (FNSW) is the governing body for association football (soccer) and Futsal in New South Wales, with the exception of the northern regions of NSW (the governing body for which is Northern New South Wales Football).  Football NSW is a member of the national governing body, Football Federation Australia (FFA). There are over 200,000 participants and over 700 individual clubs within the FNSW membership. 


The headquarters of Football NSW are located at Valentine Sport Park. In addition to housing Football NSW staff offices, the venue includes 5 playing fields, lecture rooms, indoor sports hall and 20 metre indoor pool.

Football NSW Grounds Keeper

 

Football NSW is the governing body for Football and Futsal in the Australian state of New South Wales, with the exception of the northern regions of NSW. Located in Glenwood, Sydney, Football NSW is a member of the national governing body, Football Federation Australia (FFA).

We are currently seeking an experienced Grounds Keeper that is looking for the next step in their career. The role  will be reporting directly to the Venue and Facilities Manager, the Groundskeeper will be able to work autonomously, be able to work to schedules and be proactive with the ability to plan ahead yet be flexible enough to accommodate change. You will be a self motivated individual who take prides in their work.

Duties and Responsibilities Overview

w  To ensure playing fields and general grounds areas are safe to use, properly maintained and suitable for use by participants.

w  To keep the Complex Car Parks tidy and in good condition.

w  To attend meetings as needed to provide and receive update on Complex operations.

w  Attend meeting with Manager on an as needs basis to be informed of duties and updates on operational matters – ensuring communication links are maintained.

w  Preparation of all grounds, markings, corner flags, nets, goal posts according to matches being conducted.

w  Regularly mowing, watering, fertilising, repairs, renovations of complex areas and playing surfaces ensuring maximum usage of areas are available and maintained. 

w  The maintenance of the synthetic turf fields - this includes use of machine to maintain ground integrity, cleaning machine maintenance and 100% completion of required documentation to ensure the warranties are upheld.

w  Cultivation maintenance of trees, shrubs, flowers to present a pleasant and appealing Sporting Complex. Ensure fences and hedges are maintained for presentation and security reasons.

w  Conduct edging and cleaning of pathways and driveways - ensuring presentation of Complex is maintained according to set directions.

w  Maintain stock control of ground resource items, complex and maintenance – ensuring adequate necessary equipment available to carry out relevant duties.

w  Create and adhere to a maintenance schedule that incorporates warranty requirements of FNSW equipment.  

w  Complete minor building maintenance (ad hoc on the request of manager)

w  Assist as required on event days that are held at the Complex.  This may include weekend work from time to time


 Professional Experience/Qualification:

w  Certificate III in Green Keeping or Sports Turf Management or proven experience

Other requirements:

w  Current driver’s licence

w  Flexible work hours may be required from time to time including night and weekend work

w  NSW Working with Children Check clearance number for paid workers or willingness to obtain
