After weeks of terrific weekend weather it was perhaps inevitable that the rain would come but it was not quite enough to cause these important matches to be deferred.

Football NSW in conjunction with its popular television program Football Stars of Tomorrow have put together a coaching tips DVD for promising footballers, parents and coaches.

Bright sunshine and a gentle breeze greeted the teams as they gathered for the second round of the finals series – the Major and Minor Semi Finals.

This week the finals series was split with the Preliminary Semi Finals being played at Jensen Park and the Elimination Semi Finals being scheduled for Cook Park at Mt Pritchard.

Here we are at the end of the competition and what a season it has been in every respect.

Now there is only one full round and a heap of catch-up games to be played before the finals series begins and so teams have one last chance to reach the best possible position on the table.

The big wet forced the postponement of all but one of the fixtures over the weekend and so it might be appropriate to look at the current structure of the top five in the various age groups and the chances of teams qualifying for the play-offs.
