The Referees Department at Football NSW is run by Kris Griffiths-Jones, an experienced, highly qualified referee who currently officiates in the Hyundai A-League and IGA National Premier Leagues NSW Mens 1.
The department provides referees with accreditation and training opportunities throughout the year, as well as courses for referee assessors and intructors.
Football NSW also provides and facilitates support through the Referee Development Panel, Country Referee Development Program, Branch Workshops, Branch Updates, Club Workshops and Referee Assessment Programs.
Interested in becoming a Referee?
The first step in becoming a referee is to contact your local branch for details on upcoming courses.
You can also complete the FREE online Laws of the Game training module (run by Football Federation Australia), which provides a basic introduction to the Laws of the Game and their interpretations. Successful candidates will receive a certificate identifying they have demonstrated awareness in the Laws of the Game, and have the necessary knowledge to attend the Level 4 Junior Referee course.
