Football NSW is pleased to release the Structure Document detailing the delivery model for the 2014 Football NSW Institute. The document details Football NSW's review of the 2013 program and details the framework for 2014.
2013 was the inaugural year for the FNSWI. The Institute unified the previous Skilleroos, New South Wales Institute of Sport and Skill Acquisition Programs for boys and girls into a clearly defined structure, aligned to the Football Federation Australia Integrated Talented Player Pathway.
The FNSWI delivers best practice development opportunities for the States’ most talented players.
The 2014 structure builds on the work conducted in 2013. The FNSWI provides our players an even better development opportunity, supporting the progression of players to the National Youth League, Australian Institute of Sport, Westfield W-League, Hyundai A-League and FFA National Teams.
Learning from the 2013 experience and benefiting from the good work of the licensees throughout the season, we look to improve on areas of the program in 2014. We strive to offer NSW's young players the best possible learning environment so they can realise their footballing dreams.
Football NSW is pleased to announce the structure and trial dates for the Football NSW Institute.
The Football NSW Institute unites and expands on the elite development programs conducted in 2012, and has been developed in consultation with FFA.
Football NSW Technical Director Alex Tobin stressed the importance of the Football NSW Institute program and the role it will play in the development of promising young footballers.
“The 2013 Football NSW Institute is the official elite development program for players U12 to U16 and will provide talented footballers a training environment, consistent with FFA policies, that delivers the highest standard of coaching and best platform for those players to realise their personal ambitions of becoming professional footballers and representing their country.”
