A huge Australia Cup clash awaits Sydney Olympic on Thursday night as they host A-League side Brisbane Roar at Belmore Sports Ground.

Sydney Olympic product Peter Politis, who has been part of the club since the age of nine, spoke to Football NSW's Jude Dolan about Olympic's Australia Cup run in 2026, which has taken them to the national stage, and the challenge of facing A-League opposition ahead of Thursday night's massive clash.

In 2015, St Ives FC lost one of its own.

Club member Emin Rufati tragically suffered a cardiac arrest during an Over 35s match, leaving behind his wife and two children.

Determined that no other family should have to experience the same heartbreak, the club began fundraising for defibrillators. Just two years later, one of those defibrillators was used to save a teammate's life.

Now, St Ives FC President Lyle Hudson is backing Every Beat Matters, helping ensure more grassroots clubs across NSW have access to this life-saving equipment.

Every Beat Matters: How St Ives FC Turned Tragedy Into Action

What an incredible three days of football in Mudgee, as the inaugural Deploy Football NSW Association Championships brought together associations from across the state at the state-of-the-art Glen Willow Regional Sports Complex.

A special congratulations also to Central Coast Football, who were crowned the inaugural Deploy Association of the Tournament after topping the overall standings across participation, team performances, referee involvement and fair play.
