MiniRoos Development Officer: Expression of Interest
Football NSW is the governing body for Football and Futsal in the Australian state of New South Wales, except for the northern regions of NSW. Football NSW is a member of the national governing body, Football Australia (FA).
Football NSW is located at Valentine Sports Park in Glenwood NSW. In addition to housing Football NSW staff offices, the venue includes 5 playing fields, lecture rooms, indoor sports hall and 20 metre indoor pool, cafe, and gym on site.
ROLE PURPOSE
This role delivers Coles MiniRoos activations, deliver MiniRoos Certificates and Game Leader courses, and support other deliverables and outcomes to support MiniRoos football across the state.
This role requires close liaison with Football Australia, Football NSW Member Associations, Local Clubs, Local Councils, Schools, A-League Men’s and Women’s Clubs and sponsors.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Produce deliverables and outcomes for MiniRoos football across the State.
- Provide guidance and support to the casual Game Development Officer workforce by organising continuous training and upskilling throughout the year.
- Work closely with the Football Development Department to execute MiniRoos initiatives, administering or delivering MiniRoos Certificates and Game Leader Courses, and general upskilling of volunteer community club coaches and game leaders.
- Oversee the implementation of MiniRoos event activations across various events including community, Football NSW, Football Australia and A-League events, and ensuring that we meet expected deliverables in respect of servicing commercial partners.
- Work with Football Australia, the Football Development Department and Valentine Sports Park team on the design and implementation of programs including and not limited to School Holiday Programs, Development Programs and MiniRoos KickOff Programs.
- Manage relationships with stakeholders, including A-League clubs, Football Australia, Member Associations, Member Clubs and external stakeholders, to collectively increase overall participation in football.
- Undertake special projects as directed by Head of Community and Member Services.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Demonstrated experience within the world game of football (e.g., player, coach, administrator, etc)
- Maturity and experience working with children and parents
- Excellent communication skills – ability to prepare and present in public forums (or willingness to learn)
- Customer service experience
- Passion to develop the world game of football
- 2 years’ experience in a relevant or similar role
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
- Accredited to deliver MiniRoos Certificates (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience in coordination of football programs designed to drive participation
- Experience of liaising with a variety of stakeholders
- Knowledge of Football NSW development pathways and programs
- Hold a current Foundation of Football Certificate or higher

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Flexible work hours will be required from time to time including night and weekend work
- Working with Children Number for paid workers

- Current driver’s license
- Travelling to various locations is required

This is a fixed-term full-time role for up to 12 months and is supported by funding from Football Australia, with expected salary of $60k + super.
